Semiconductive tapes are manufactured from polyester based non-woven fabric by treating with a conductive material to reach desirable conductivity level.
Most common use is in power cables, wrapping it under neutral screen wires, under metallic jackets (lead, steel, copper or aluminium jackets) to keep contact with outer semiconductive layers. Other usage is between cable segments (for multi core cables), or under and between armouring layers. |
